The SA-F is the HQS digital floor scale series for weighing large animals. The weighing platform is carbon steel or stainless steel on U-shape beams formed in moulds; the carbon steel version is powder-coated with anti-corrosive paint. Each scale is a single deck with four load cells (sensitivity 2.0 ± 0.002 mV/V) and a junction box, rated up to 10 t, runs on 220 V AC, 50 Hz and works at 0–40 °C. The indicator, with LED or LCD display, is optional; through it the weighing data can be sent to a computer or a scoreboard. The SA-F is offered in eight platform sizes: 0.8 × 0.8 m, 1.0 × 1.0 m, 1.2 × 1.2 m, 1.2 × 1.5 m, 1.5 × 1.5 m, 1.5 × 2.0 m, 1.5 × 3.0 m and 2.0 × 2.0 m. All sizes share the same construction, load cell and electrical specification, so the choice comes down to the footprint of the largest animal you weigh and the floor space available, and to carbon or stainless steel. If the animal must be contained while it is weighed, compare the SA-L livestock scale, which uses the same platform sizes with a 1 m high enclosure and lockable opposite doors.
