The MCKS-1000 and MCKS-1200 are the HQS compact PRP centrifuges for small tubes. Both have a strong plastic case, microcomputer control, a DC brushless motor and an LED display of speed and time, a 0–99 min timer, and a door lock that stops the rotor when the cover is opened. Each comes with two rotors: one takes six 1.5 ml, 0.5 ml or 0.2 ml tubes, the other two rows of 0.2 ml × 8 PCR tube strips, and the rotor buckle is designed for easy changing. They run on a 50–60 Hz supply. The only listed difference is speed: the MCKS-1000 reaches 10000 rpm and 5500 × g, the MCKS-1200 12000 rpm and 7900 × g. Choose the MCKS-1200 if your protocol calls for more than 5500 × g; otherwise both models take the same tubes. The listed uses include extraction of serum and supernatant, rapid precipitation of samples, micro blood cell separation and microbiological sample processing. Neither model takes blood collection tubes larger than 1.5 ml, so for larger PRP tubes compare the HQS benchtop centrifuges.
